-
What does it take to learn RealityCharting?
RealityCharting® is simple to use, intuitive, and readily supports the new user with a wizard and numerous video tutorials. And the user is presented with explanative tool tips that are quickly displayed when the cursor is focused over useable features.
-
How do I share my work in RealityCharting with someone who doesn't have it?
RealityCharting® allows users to share their work by printing a pdf of the multiple reports and charting views as well as exporting a jpg of those which can then be inserted into many different file formats.
-
Is RealityCharting a 64-bit compatible application?
RealityCharting® version 5.0 is not a 64-bit application though it runs in a 64 bit OS just fine. It has been running and tested in 64-bit Windows XP without issue for a long time and we don't expect there to be any issues in Vista either.
-
How can I copy and paste cause boxes?
Drag and drop is the preferred way to "copy" from one file to another - it's quick and easy. Whenever multiple charts are visible at the same time on the workspace, you can drag causes from one chart to the other. Simply select the causes you want to move and drag them to the other chart.
-
How do I use my analysis in applications like PowerPoint?
The Export feature will allow you use any of your reports or charting views (Custom View, Causal Element View, or Optimized View) from the RealityCharting® analysis in applications such as Word®, Excel®, and PowerPoint®.
To export a single image of your Realitychart use the Custom View window to set the chart onto a single page. This can be done with page size adjustment - just increase the page dimensions in the Page Setup window using the custom dimensions or a preset size that fits your chart. You can also use the Cause Scale feature to adjust the size of the causes to fit on one page. And you can drag causes and connecting lines around as needed though this last method can be a bit of effort if your chart is large. There is a great video tutorial on the Custom View in the Help window - select the Help menu and choose RealityCharting Help Videos to find it.
-
How do I print my Realitycharts?
RealityCharting® has a number of printing solutions depending on your needs. Multiple printing formats including international and plotter page sizing are available. If you need a large chart printed and don't have a plotter, contact us and we will do it for you.
The Custom View is the best place to print the chart and we recommend using the Cause Scale feature to reduce or increase cause box size. You can drag the causes to fit closer together than the default spacing presents and use the Page Setup feature to define the page size.
If this is a large chart and you have a plotter available choose the E size paper and if the content extends beyond one page and you have a roll feed plotter adjust the height field in the Page Setup window to capture it all on one page.
We highly recommend the short video tutorials found in the RealityCharting Help menu. The Custom View is a great one to show you the best ways of plotting a chart or arranging the layout for printing. And there is a Printing tutorial that does a good job of showing how this feature works for all the available outputs.
-
How do I print to a plotter?
You can print the entire chart to a plotter from within the Custom View window. Select the appropriate plotter page size in the page setup window and print that view to a pdf. Once that is created you may proceed to print to the plotter using the native pdf file.
-
Can I install the Version 5.0 upgrade without affecting my current version?
Yes, RealityCharting® version 5.0 can be installed independently on the same computer as version 3+. Both versions can be open and used separately at the same time.
-
What is the file compatibility between Version 5.0 and Version 3?
There is upward compatibility with version 3 files (.rca type) safely opened and converted (.arca type) by saving them (Save As) in version 5.0. The original files can be kept and used as needed in the older version. In summary, the version 3 files can be viewed in both while the version 5.0 files are unable to be used in an older release.
-
Why won't RealityCharting version 5.0 install?
You will need administrator privileges to install RealityCharting® and the Adobe AIR runtime. This may be the cause preventing installation of RealityCharting. Without assuming this is the problem try installing the Adobe AIR runtime as the first step. Go to http://get.adobe.com/air/ and try to download it. If you can get that installed try installing RealityCharting® version 5.0 again.
-
How frequent are RealityCharting updates and upgrades?
RealityCharting® updates are done regularly every 6-12 months with upgrades released every 18-24 months.
-
How is RealityCharting supported?
We are available to answer any questions you may have regarding RealityCharting®. You can fill out the Contact Us form to ask a question or log a technical support issue by completing the Support form. Maintenance agreements are offered to Enterprise Software customers and can be arranged for large quantities of the individual license.
-
Is there a RealityCharting Users Group?
Currently there is no RealityCharting® users group though future site development will look to include this feature. Please contact us if you would be interested in participating in a users group.
-
What is the Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) for RealityCharting?
The RealityCharting® software continues to qualify for the ECCN designation of EAR99.
-
How do I resolve a problem entering my email address during the registration process?
This is typically related to the Azerty and Qwetz keyboards used by many of our European customers. Typing "at" in place of "@" or leaving a blank space where the "@" would go will work to satisfy this field requirement.
-
Is there a way to reproduce/print just the Problem Definition?
We suggest using the Incident Report to print or export the problem definition. This won't be by itself and if you export it there would be just a couple steps to delete the non-applicable rows. There are plans to let users individually print the Problem Definition, Notes, References, Team Members and Rules Check windows.
-
Where can I find the end user license agreement (EULA)?
You can review the end user license agreement by clicking RealityCharting License Agreement.
