Preferences

The Preferences window provides you with the flexibility to customize how RealityCharting looks and behaves. To view the Preferences window, select this option from the RealityCharting menu.

Preference Settings

The Preferences tab allows you to set a default save location, choose date formatting, select language type and activate a number of pre-defined features.

Moving the cursor over each of the listed items briefly presents more information about each option.

To deactivate an individual selection, uncheck the related check box to immediately implement the change in the Realitychart.

Problem Definition Setup

Selecting the Edit Setup button in the Problem Definition window will open the Preferences window with the Problem Definition Setup tab in focus.

The Problem Definition Setup tab allows you to customize which subsections are shown in the Problem Definition window.

Any change made in the Problem Definition Setup tab is immediately implemented in the Problem Definition window.

Selecting a subsection will automatically select and include the parent section in the Problem Definition window.

To add a subsection, select the parent section, then add the new subsection text and select the Add New Subsection button.

To delete a subsection, select it then select the delete button. The parent When, Where, and Significance sections cannot be deleted.

To restore the default settings and uncheck all subsections, select the Default button.

Color Settings

The Color Settings tab allows you to customize the color of the different cause types and workspace background.

To change the color of the workspace background or any specific cause type, choose a new color from the related color palette then select the Apply button. This will override any custom color changes made with the toolbar feature.

To change the color of all cause types to the default setting select the Default button. This will override any custom color changes made with the toolbar feature.

Solution Criteria

Selecting the Edit Criteria button in the Solutions Assessment Report window will open the Preferences window with the Solution Criteria tab in focus.

The Solution Criteria tab gives you the ability to define your own criteria and associated ranking options for use in the Solution Assessment Report.

To add new criteria options, enter your text in the Criteria and Ranking fields and select the Add Criteria button.

To delete criteria, select the applicable delete button. This will not remove any existing selections from the Realitycharts.

To restore default criteria and delete any customized entries select the Default button. This will not remove any existing selections from the Realitycharts.

Advanced Evidence

The Advanced Evidence tab allows you to add or remove the different types of evidence that will be shown in the Evidence Log window.

To add new evidence, enter your text in the Evidence field and select the Add Evidence button.

To delete evidence, select the applicable delete button. This will not remove any existing selections from the Realitycharts.

To restore default evidence and delete any customized entries select the Default button.
